Company history
this is how we were created
1938
Georg Lummel founds the sheet metal workshop Lummel in Himmelstadt.
1955
Heinrich G. Lummel starts his apprenticeship as a sheet metal worker at the company Schneider in Veitshöchheim.
1959
To gain professional experience, Heinrich G. Lummel goes to Switzerland for five years after completing his journeyman's examination.
1964
Heinrich G. Lummel passes the master's examination in the sheet metal trade.
1965
Heinrich G. Lummel reopens the business in his father's workshop.
1978-1980
The workshop with residential building was built in Julius-Echterstraße.
At the same time the sheet metal workshop Lummel receives the first national large orders with the Forum Niedernberg and the Sparkasse Korschenbroich.
The company Lummel changes from a traditional sheet metal workshop to a modern company and sets new accents again and again.
1980
The company Lummel GmbH is founded.
1985
As Lummel is one of the leading companies in its field in Germany, the first project abroad is executed in Saudi Arabia.
This is followed by projects in Hong Kong, China, Mongolia, Nigeria, Singapore, Brunei and the Seychelles.
1988
Georg Lummel finishes his apprenticeship as a sheet metal worker.
1988
The hand folding bench "Lukas", developed by Heinrich G. Lummel and Alouis Schechtl, is awarded the State Prize in 1988.
1988-1990
To meet the new challenges, an additional production hall and a warehouse are built.
1990
The company Lummel celebrates its 25th anniversary.
1994
Georg Lummel passes his master's examination.
2000
First collaboration with architect Frank O. Gehry at the Düsseldorf Zollhof.
2015
